Observations and Anecdotal Information
Palo santo essential oil’s medicinal properties include anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer effects. It is great for treating muscle and soft tissue injuries, and especially for unwinding frozen trauma patterns in the muscles.
It is a perfect choice for massage blends, especially for relieving muscle pain and treating sports injuries. We have received feedback from one person who has used it to treat spinal curvature, applying the oil with spinal compresses and gentle massage.
It is made from wood that has been dead for about ten years, allowing the pitch to concentrate in the heartwood. Because this is rare to find and many people are trying to cash in on this oil’s new popularity worldwide, some artisan distillers in Ecuador have begun a replanting program to replace what is taken and make this production more sustainable.
We are excited to offer a small amount of this oil, distilled by artisans with a conscious intention for honoring the environment and the oil’s limited availability in nature.
