Observations and Anecdotal Information
This is a great oil for sports enthusiasts, as it relieves all kinds of muscular pain from injuries, overuse, etc. It is effective on intercostal pain, sprains, strains, and rheumatism.
Nutmeg essential oil is also effective for certain types of headaches, especially migraines and those caused by hormonal imbalance. These may be relieved by applying the oil as a cool compress to the temples.
Taken internally with proper dilution, it can be very effective for digestive issues including gas, bloating, and indigestion.
Nutmeg imitates estrogen in the body, signaling the body to stop producing estrogen in cases of high estrogen. This helps in easing labor pains, increasing contractions during birth, and as a uterine stimulant and tonic.
To ease labor pains during childbirth, apply nutmeg essential oil to the abdomen in a 4% dilution with carrier oil.
It is a cardio-tonic, useful for strengthening the heart. For this purpose, apply diluted oil to the chest before getting into the shower.
